Hi, I'm Guenter H. Schamel – engineer by profession, writer by passion. For many years, I lived in the world of technology and precision. Then one day, I remembered that words can be just as powerful as numbers – and a lot more fun. Writing has become my creative playground, where I mix life experience with curiosity, and a touch of dry humor for good measure. Whether it’s a thoughtful reflection or an imaginative journey, I aim to offer something meaningful (or at least mildly entertaining).

Before I fully embraced the world of storytelling, I spent over a decade in research, eventually earning a PhD (yes, the kind with footnotes and way too many coffee-fueled nights). I then dipped into the fast-paced waters of management consulting – where PowerPoint is a native language – followed by a senior role in German industry as an executive assistant to the board (basically, part diplomat, part firefighter).

Not one to sit still, I founded a telecom company, helped guide it to a stock market listing, and somehow survived the ride with my sense of humor intact. Along the way, I developed a taste for international business, especially in vibrant places like Dubai, Asia and South Africa, where innovation meets adventure (and sometimes confusion meets customs forms).

These days, my entrepreneurial spirit keeps me busy in real estate and startups – or at least keeps me well-supplied with coffee and “character-building” experiences. Through it all, writing remains my anchor, my outlet, and my way of making sense of the beautifully unpredictable thing called life.

Outside of work, I care deeply about giving back. I’ve been an active member of Rotary International for many years and had the honor of serving as president of my local Rotary Club in Germany in 2017. Community service continues to be an important part of my life.
